This isn’t a role for someone looking to keep things ticking over.

Diverse Services has built a strong reputation in supported living for adults with complex mental health needs across West London. Now we’re growing into learning disabilities and autism. Our motto is Leading The Change, and we need an ambitious Registered Manager to build this service from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity to become the Registered Manager of a new learning disability and autism service and genuinely shape what it becomes, from CQC registration and recruitment through to culture, practice, partnerships and growth.

We’re looking for an experienced Registered Manager who doesn’t simply want to manage an established service. You will want to build, influence and lead, shaping the culture, team, model of support and quality framework from the outset.

If you’re looking for a steady job and a pay cheque, this isn’t for you.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the CQC registration and mobilisation of the new service, with close support from the senior leadership team, before taking full responsibility for its quality, safety and performance.
  • Work directly with commissioners to understand local need and grow our learning disability and autism provision.
  • Design new models of support in line with Right support, right care, right culture.
  • Build and lead your own team of support workers from scratch.
  • Train, coach and mentor our non-registered managers to become Registered Managers.
  • Embed positive behaviour support, STOMP and strong governance from day one.

What you must have

  • Recent, evidenced experience as a CQC Registered Manager (within the last two years).
  • Substantial experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, the Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding.
  • A track record of building and leading teams, including coaching managers or senior staff.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering positive outcomes for people with learning disabilities and/or autism, including promoting choice, independence, community inclusion and positive risk-taking.
  • An ambitious, solution-focused mindset and a drive to do things differently.

What will set you apart

  • SEND experience: supporting people with complex communication, learning, sensory or accessibility needs, and a strong understanding of how to promote independence and inclusion.
  • Experience mobilising a new service or working directly with commissioners.
  • Experience supporting a manager through CQC registration.
  • PBS qualification, dual diagnosis experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.

What’s in it for you

  • The freedom to build a service your way, with direct access to senior leadership.
  • A performance bonus of up to £3,000, linked to quality, regulatory compliance, successful mobilisation, workforce stability and agreed organisational KPIs.
  • Join us at the beginning of our learning disability and autism growth journey, with the opportunity to influence and lead future services as the portfolio expands, becoming a senior voice within the business.
  • 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Funded professional development (for example PBS qualification, leadership coaching).
  • Workplace pension.
  • Employee assistance and wellbeing support.
  • Work phone and laptop.

How to apply: a three-stage process

Stage 1: CV and supporting statement answering:

  1. You’re starting with no service, no team and no systems. What would your first 90 days look like? (up to 350 words)
  2. What did your most recent CQC inspection find, and what did you do next? (up to 200 words)
  3. What’s one thing learning disability and autism services commonly get wrong, and what would you do instead? (up to 200 words)

Stage 2: Telephone or Teams interview
Stage 3: Face-to-face interview

Answers over the word limits will not be considered. Send your CV and supporting statement, and any questions, to recruitment@diverseservices.co.uk. You can also start with the application form on our careers page.
