Diverse Academy · Our plans for the future
Diverse Academy
Diverse Academy is not up and running yet. This page sets out what we want to build and what we hope it will achieve in the future: a single home for learning and progression, so that support work becomes a career people choose, not one they fall into.
Not open yet: our plans for the future
What we want it to achieve
- Help make support work a recognised profession, trained and respected like any other skilled career
- Help us grow our own leaders, from support worker to senior, team leader and manager
- Build specialist skills in mental health, trauma-informed support, forensic support and behaviour that challenges
- Help us keep great people, through real training and a reason to stay and grow
Who we want it to be for
- Our own team first
- Then people new to support work, looking for a way in
- People from the local communities we support across West London
- In time, the wider sector: sharing what works with other providers
How we hope it will change the sector
- Changing how support work is seen: a skilled career, not "just a job"
- Raising the standard by showing what good training for support workers looks like
- Better support, because skilled, confident and well-supported staff help people move forward
- Fewer agency strangers: building and keeping our own team, so people know who supports them
“The idea behind Diverse Academy is simple: nobody should join us to stand still. Start as a support worker, and we want you to have the training, the qualifications and the path to lead.”

“Support workers should be treated as professionals from their first day. That's what Diverse Academy is about: skills, qualifications and progression that prove it.”

Making support work a career
Great support depends on great people. We promote from within, we pay for training, and we back our team on the hard days. We want support work to be a respected profession with a real career path.

In 2026 about 33 staff completed trauma-informed practice training, alongside mental health and support-and-risk-planning workshops
